About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide independent patient care through the application of the nursing process for patients ranging from infancy to adulthood
- Manage complex patient care assignments appropriate to skill level
- Utilize evidence-based practice to integrate clinical expertise with patient preferences
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives at the unit level
- Collaborate with inter-professional healthcare teams to coordinate care across the continuum
- Utilize clinical information systems and technology to manage knowledge and mitigate error
- Serve as a resource for safety concerns and problem-solving
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program
- 1 year of RN experience in pediatric critical care OR 2 years of RN experience in neonatal or adult critical care OR 2 years of RN experience in pediatric or adult cardiac acute care
- Registered Nurse license by California Board of Registered Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) by AHA
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) by AHA (or obtain within 90 days of hire)
