About the role
Responsibilities
- Educate patients and families regarding conditions, medications, and immunosuppressive therapy
- Support patients in managing treatment plans and monitoring for side effects
- Coordinate care and connect patients with necessary resources and support services
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and care plans using EPIC
- Collaborate with lead hepatologists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and program development
- Support the academic mission by assisting patients with participation in approved research studies
Requirements
- Completion of a university, college, or approved nursing program
- Current CNO certificate of competency
- Current BCLS Level II certification
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in hepatology, gastroenterology, or a related field
- Proficiency in phlebotomy, IV insertion, and vascular access line management
- Experience with EPIC documentation
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- B.Sc.N. degree
- Certification in hepatology nursing or a related specialty
- Completion of a Physical Health Assessment Course
- Completion of an ECG interpretation course
