About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement nursing educational programs for nursing service personnel within a specialized clinical service.
  • Facilitate the delivery of patient care using the Nursing Process and Relationship-Based Care model.
  • Provide direct patient care, consultation, and clinical leadership to act as a role model for nursing practice.
  • Coordinate the educational development of staff members and assist in creating effective nursing care plans.
  • Analyze clinical performance and establish standards for nursing personnel to improve patient outcomes.
  • Initiate and conduct evidence-based practice research to support departmental and organizational initiatives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and respond to changing patient needs.

Requirements

  • MSN degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • Valid Illinois RN license (or eligibility for registration with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation).
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience in the assigned branch of service, with at least one year in a comparable consultant role.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Current ACLS certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
  • National certification through an ANCC-approved certifier (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
  • Intermediate computer skills and the ability to become proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to facilitate therapeutic relationships.
