About the role
Responsibilities
- Review genetic testing data, interpret genetic variants, and sign out laboratory test results
- Conduct troubleshooting of technical problems and review scientific literature to support findings
- Curate gene panels to include comprehensive gene lists supported by scientific literature
- Write and edit genetic test reports for clinical use
- Support process improvement projects to drive cost savings, efficiencies, and productivity
- Ensure laboratory compliance with company SOPs and applicable Federal, State, and local regulations
- Communicate effectively cross-functionally with all levels within the organization
Requirements
- Doctoral Degree in Chemical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory science AND certification as an ABB High-Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD) or ABMGG in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics, Molecular Genetics, or Cytogenetics
- OR an MD or DO degree with 3+ years of experience in a clinical lab with director oversight, certified in anatomical or clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology or the American Osteopathic Board of Pathology
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Ability to work a designated schedule, including nights and/or weekends as needed
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of post-certification experience reviewing and signing out clinical test reports
- 7+ years of total experience reviewing and signing out clinical test reports (including pre-certification years)
