About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on operative training in adult genitourinary reconstruction, including urethral, penile, and urinary tract reconstruction
  • Function as an active operating surgeon progressing toward graduated autonomy
  • Manage complex cases such as urinary incontinence, genitourinary fistula repair, and trauma
  • Complete and disseminate at least one original research project resulting in a peer-reviewed manuscript or presentation
  • Participate in structured outpatient continuity and multidisciplinary conferences

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or equivalent degree
  • Successful completion of an accredited urology residency program
  • Board eligibility or board certification in urology
  • Eligibility for a medical license in the State of Michigan
  • Demonstrated interest in genitourinary reconstructive surgery
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teaching skills
  • Aptitude for academic scholarship and research
