About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on operative training in adult genitourinary reconstruction, including urethral, penile, and urinary tract reconstruction
- Function as an active operating surgeon progressing toward graduated autonomy
- Manage complex cases such as urinary incontinence, genitourinary fistula repair, and trauma
- Complete and disseminate at least one original research project resulting in a peer-reviewed manuscript or presentation
- Participate in structured outpatient continuity and multidisciplinary conferences
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or equivalent degree
- Successful completion of an accredited urology residency program
- Board eligibility or board certification in urology
- Eligibility for a medical license in the State of Michigan
- Demonstrated interest in genitourinary reconstructive surgery
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teaching skills
- Aptitude for academic scholarship and research
