Clinical Laboratory Scientist I

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and highly complex laboratory tests and analyses according to standard operating procedures
• Process clinical specimens and perform extraction lab tasks
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
• Perform, review, and document laboratory quality control and quality assurance procedures
• Prepare reagents required for laboratory testing
• Maintain sufficient inventory of laboratory supplies for daily operations
• Identify and resolve basic technical problems affecting test performance or laboratory operations
• Maintain stringent standards for quality and safety in accordance with company policies

Requirements

• Associate degree in laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
• Completion of 60 semester hours of accredited coursework, including specific requirements in medical laboratory technology or science
• Professional working knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Ability to perform technical work up to 95% of the working day and lift up to 40 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology
• Experience in molecular biology techniques and principles
