About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform moderate and highly complex laboratory tests and analyses according to standard operating procedures
  • Process clinical specimens and prepare required reagents for testing
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
  • Perform, review, and document laboratory quality control and quality assurance procedures
  • Maintain sufficient inventory of laboratory supplies for daily operations
  • Identify and resolve basic technical problems affecting test performance or laboratory operations
  • Maintain stringent standards for quality and safety, communicating issues to management as necessary
  • Meet productivity and turnaround time (TAT) expectations in a high-volume environment

Requirements

  • Associate degree in laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
  • Professional working knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds for approximately 25% of a typical working day
  • Ability to work a designated shift (Saturday - Monday, 6:00pm - 6:30am) following initial training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology
  • Experience in molecular biology techniques and principles
