About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support daily clinical laboratory operations and provide leadership to clinical laboratory associates
  • Assist clinical laboratory scientists with automated high-complexity sample processing, reagent preparation, and plate assembly
  • Set up and operate liquid handling robots (e.g., Tecan, Hamilton) and perform functional testing on automated instruments
  • Oversee laboratory inventory, including the tracking and introduction of consumables and reagents from third-party manufacturers
  • Lead process improvement initiatives, including analysis, implementation, and effectiveness assessment
  • Perform equipment maintenance, calibration, and environmental monitoring
  • Document and maintain accurate records for equipment, instruments, and personnel training
  • Coach and train clinical laboratory associates by identifying development gaps and providing constructive feedback
  • Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, HIPAA, FDA, and other regulatory guidelines

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4 years of experience in a laboratory or production work environment
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of clinical laboratory regulatory requirements
  • Experience with automated laboratory workflows
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or a related field
  • Experience working in a high-volume laboratory performing high-complexity sample processing
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Experience managing projects under minimal supervision
  • Experience training staff on current and new laboratory procedures
  • Working knowledge of automated instrument operation and troubleshooting
