About the role

Responsibilities

  • Direct day-to-day laboratory operations during the 3rd shift (Tuesday - Friday, 10p - 7:30a)
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate the competency of laboratory staff
  • Ensure strict compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and other applicable regulatory standards
  • Oversee the Quality Management program, including pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes
  • Resolve technical problems and ensure corrective actions are taken for any test deviations
  • Monitor supply usage, equipment needs, and departmental budget expenses
  • Verify test procedures by reviewing proficiency testing, corrected reports, and quality control

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory/medical technology science
  • 4+ years of experience in high complexity testing, including molecular pathology methods
  • 2+ years in a role with progressive responsibility (e.g., lead technologist or technical specialist)
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Ability to work exclusively night and weekend shifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of laboratory supervision experience
  • 6+ years of experience in high complexity clinical laboratory testing
  • Appropriate certification from a nationally recognized agency (e.g., ASCP) or equivalent state licensure
  • 1+ years of experience with Laboratory Information System (LIS) workflows
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management and regulatory requirements (CLIA, CAP, OSHA)
