Clinical Lab Scientist I - NGS

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and highly complex laboratory tests and analyses according to standard operating procedures within an NGS environment.
• Process clinical specimens and prepare necessary reagents for laboratory testing.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform, review, and document laboratory quality control and quality assurance procedures.
• Identify and resolve basic technical problems affecting test performance or laboratory operations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed and manage daily test processing needs.
• Maintain sufficient inventory of laboratory supplies and participate in the validation of new equipment or procedures.
• Comply with all safety, hazard, and quality management system regulations.

Requirements

• Associate degree in laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of 60 semester hours of accredited coursework, including specific requirements in medical laboratory technology or science (chemistry and biology).
• Professional working knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Ability to perform technical laboratory work and meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 40 pounds and performing repetitive motions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• Experience in molecular biology techniques and principles.
