Clinical Lab Scientist I

Responsibilities

• Verify specimens and perform clinical laboratory tests following standard methods
• Maintain updated knowledge of laboratory methods and procedures
• Follow Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) to maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Troubleshoot common equipment errors and escalate malfunctions or protocol deviations
• Perform quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of clinical data
• Maintain equipment and instruments in good operating condition
• Ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements through proper documentation
• Handle Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA regulations

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Technologist or equivalent in a clinical laboratory
• BS/BA degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or a related field
• Current California CLS license (Generalist) or CGMBS license
• Proficiency in molecular biology and pipetting
• Strong troubleshooting, computer, and data management skills
• Ability to discern color visually or evaluate cellular morphology
