Clinical Lab Scientist 1

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing, interpret results, and record findings
• Conduct quality control and proficiency testing to ensure accuracy
• Comply with cGMP requirements regarding test interpretation and validity
• Communicate and report test results to internal and external customers
• Process incoming patient blood samples and prepare laboratory reagents
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure a clean, safe work area
• Assume on-call responsibilities as required by the department

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or a related biological science
• Or four years of relevant work experience/specialized training in lieu of a degree
• Ability to work the 3rd shift (Wednesday–Saturday, 7:00 pm – 5:30 am)
• Ability to work onsite at the Hoxworth Blood Center

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with flow cytometry and molecular DNA testing
• Professional certification such as MLT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(ASCP), BB(ASCP), or SBB(ASCP)
• Background in immunology and strong critical thinking skills
