Clinical Lab Scientist 1

Responsibilities

• Perform and report clinical lab testing on samples for patient diagnosis and treatment
• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and next generation sequencing processes
• Maintain updated knowledge of laboratory methods and clinical information
• Supervise laboratory activities in the absence of an onsite manager
• Identify and correct problems affecting test performance or reporting
• Participate in quality management and support laboratory licensure and inspections
• Train other CLS personnel and monitor non-licensed staff
• Follow established policies, procedures, and quality control documentation
• Assist in assay development activities as required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in sciences or a related discipline
• California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license or CGMBS license
• 0-4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with manual DNA/RNA extractions
• Experience with manual library prep
• Experience working with a microtome
