Clinical Dietitian

Responsibilities

• Evaluate nutrition parameters and select appropriate therapies to restore or maintain optimal nutrition status for patients.
• Perform clinical assessments including medical diagnosis, history, lab values, and diet history to determine nutritional status.
• Plan and prescribe nutrition therapies, including therapeutic diets, nutritional supplements, and enteral/parenteral support.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to align nutritional interventions with patient goals of care.
• Educate and counsel patients and families on appropriate nutrition therapy for disease prevention and wellness.
• Document all care provided in the medical record and identify billable nutrition diagnoses.
• Serve as a resource for nursing, medical staff, and students, and participate in quality improvement (QAPI) initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nutrition/Dietetics.
• Completion of required nutrition classes to be eligible for a Dietetic Internship.
• Current Illinois Registered Dietitian license.
• Ability to work one weekend per month.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nutrition or a related field.
• More than one year of clinical practice experience.
