About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and provide nutritional care to patients across all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
- Assess nutritional status and risk, and monitor enteral and parenteral nutrition support
- Develop comprehensive nutrition care plans and establish outcome criteria within a multi-disciplinary team
- Provide nutrition education to both inpatients and outpatients
- Document all assessments, diagnoses, interventions, and evaluations in the electronic medical record
- Supervise and direct the work of Dietetic Technicians
- Participate in patient care rounds, committees, and pediatric case conferences
- Interpret and utilize current research data to improve clinical outcomes and participate in performance improvement projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an ACEND-approved program
- Completion of an ACEND-accredited dietetic internship
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential obtained within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish
