Clinical Dietitian-Diabetes Education

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized assessments and follow-up sessions for the Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) Program.
• Instruct DSME classes in group settings and conduct 1:1 education sessions based on patient needs.
• Deliver Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and diabetes education to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Develop and maintain updated, evidence-based educational tools and curriculum for nutritional counseling.
• Coordinate with physicians regarding diet orders, medication adjustments, and clinical consultations.
• Provide diabetes education to hospitalized patients and participate in community outreach events.
• Collaborate with the diabetes team and other departments to promote quality outpatient services and quality improvement initiatives.
• Document all patient interactions clearly and precisely in accordance with established standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) credentials.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Dietitian.
• Ability to obtain Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification within one year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience specifically in diabetes education.
• Insulin pump certification.
