Clinical Data Intern

Responsibilities

• Systematically extract, transfer, and input patient data, medical histories, and clinical notes from legacy databases to a new system.
• Handle highly sensitive Protected Health Information (PHI) with strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and internal confidentiality protocols.
• Conduct routine quality assurance and data verification checks to ensure data integrity and correct discrepancies or duplicates.
• Navigate multiple software platforms and dual-monitor setups to cross-reference patient information.
• Maintain daily logs of migration progress and report technical roadblocks or data anomalies to the project supervisor.
• Assist with digital file organization, scanning documents, and attaching them to correct patient charts.

Requirements

• Exceptional keyboarding skills with a minimum typing speed of 65+ WPM and high accuracy.
• High technical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn new software systems and navigate complex databases.
• Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of medical records.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for handling sensitive personal data.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet daily data-entry quotas.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting system issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or education related to the healthcare field.
