About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assess and collect patient health data, inputting medical information into the EMR as instructed by physicians.
  • Develop and execute care plans across the continuum, including medication management, renewals, and medical prior authorizations.
  • Administer immunizations and medications while executing nursing interventions following established standards of care.
  • Manage patient triage via telephone, MyChart, and in-person visits, providing essential health education.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary services, including arranging diagnostic tests (lab, x-ray) and performing procedures under physician supervision.
  • Coordinate and schedule inpatient and outpatient cardiac MRIs (CMRs) and cardiac CTs.
  • Maintain Cardiac MRI and CT databases and assist with patient enrollment for research studies.
  • Serve as a liaison with referring physicians and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Precept new clinical staff, including Medical Assistants and LPNs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent in education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of related clinical experience.
  • Current New York State RN License.
  • BLS certification.
  • EPIC Access experience.
  • Ability to perform sedentary work and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to work in an environment with exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
