About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide vascular care services in an office setting, including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, and treating patients.
  • Perform physical examinations and obtain health histories through patient and family interviews.
  • Order and interpret laboratory diagnostics and other screening tests.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications, injections, or infusions in compliance with state laws.
  • Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments, and health promotion.
  • Manage patient documentation within the medical record, including test results, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with vascular surgeons and other clinicians to manage acute and long-term medical needs.
  • Monitor continuity of care by triaging patient calls and emails and reviewing results.
  • Participate in peer reviews, staff education, and quality assurance activities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited or New York State approved Physician Assistant education program.
  • 5 years of nursing or related clinical experience.
  • Current New York State Physician Assistant (PA) License.
  • NCCPA Board Certification.
  • Valid BLS Certification.
  • Valid DEA Certification.
  • Experience working with EPIC EMR.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Extensive experience using EPIC EMR.
