About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the evaluation process for potential transplant candidates and manage patient consults.
- Maintain and manage patients on the liver/intestinal transplant waitlist in compliance with UNOS policies.
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment of conditions, review of lab reports, and management of immunosuppression under supervision.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, hepatologists, and nurse practitioners to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Serve as a primary liaison between patients, families, and the clinical/research teams.
- Facilitate documentation, clinical standards, and regulatory data reporting.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, administrative meetings, and patient education groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or equivalent in education and experience).
- Valid New York State RN License.
- 4 years of related clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office.
