Responsibilities

• Primary coding of ICD and OPS, including supplementary fees, new examination and treatment methods (NUB), and complex codes in the DRG area based on patient files
• Review, completion, and correction of § 301 data
• Checking patient files for documentation completeness for billing purposes and releasing billing
• Reviewing and processing cost carrier inquiries/MD reports and creating medical justifications in cooperation with physicians
• Serving as a contact person for doctors, nursing staff, and therapeutic staff regarding coding, documentation, and length of stay optimization

Requirements

• Commercial-medical or nursing vocational training
• Additional qualification as a coding specialist or Case-Mix Performer
• Proficient knowledge of German coding guidelines and classifications (ICD-10-GM and OPS)
• Knowledge of annual catalog adjustments
• Proficiency in MS Office and KIS systems (ideally ORBIS, 3M Management, LE Portal, ImplantDoc, or EndoDok)
• Independent, structured, and goal-oriented working style

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in orthopedic coding
• General knowledge in the area of Hybrid DRGs
• Clinical professional experience
