About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized, culturally sensitive nursing care for radiation oncology patients within the brachytherapy clinic.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physicists, and surgical departments.
- Manage patient care pre, during, and post-procedures, including assessment and management of radiation side effects.
- Perform clinical tasks such as accessing ports, initiating IVs, and administering contrast.
- Deliver comprehensive patient and family education regarding treatments, procedures, and recovery.
- Manage clinic flow, including telephone triage, high-acuity patient assessment, and medication administration.
- Maintain accurate and efficient electronic health record documentation.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Minimum of 2 years of Oncology experience within the last 5 years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 months of Brachytherapy experience.
- Minimum of 12 months of Gyn Oncology or Gynecology experience.
- Minimum of 12 months of Procedure or ICU experience.
- Ambulatory Care experience with telephone triage and symptom management.
- OCN certification.
