About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized, culturally sensitive nursing care for radiation oncology patients within the brachytherapy clinic.
  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physicists, and surgical departments.
  • Manage patient care pre, during, and post-procedures, including assessment and management of radiation side effects.
  • Perform clinical tasks such as accessing ports, initiating IVs, and administering contrast.
  • Deliver comprehensive patient and family education regarding treatments, procedures, and recovery.
  • Manage clinic flow, including telephone triage, high-acuity patient assessment, and medication administration.
  • Maintain accurate and efficient electronic health record documentation.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Minimum of 2 years of Oncology experience within the last 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 months of Brachytherapy experience.
  • Minimum of 12 months of Gyn Oncology or Gynecology experience.
  • Minimum of 12 months of Procedure or ICU experience.
  • Ambulatory Care experience with telephone triage and symptom management.
  • OCN certification.
