About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally sensitive, team-based nursing care for OB/GYN and Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) patients in an ambulatory clinic setting.
  • Perform phone and referral triage, including clinical assessment, screening, and providing clinical advice.
  • Conduct in-person, virtual, and telephone nurse visits and assist with in-clinic hands-on procedures.
  • Coordinate patient care including medication management, relaying test results, and providing patient/family education.
  • Maintain accurate and efficient documentation of nursing care and patient progress within electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and ancillary services to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide functional supervision to assistive personnel and serve as a resource to the clinical team.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan.
  • Educational background meeting one of the following: a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, OR an Associate/Diploma in Nursing combined with a Master's degree or higher in Nursing.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience in Labor and Delivery or an OB/Gyn clinic.
  • Minimum of six (6) months of RN experience providing direct care to gynecology patients and assisting with specialty procedures.
  • Current BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years of ambulatory care experience specifically within OBGYN.
  • One year of Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) ambulatory care experience.
  • Experience with MiChart, EPIC, Cisco Finesse, Word, and Excel.
  • Certification in Ambulatory Nursing or Obstetric Nursing.
  • Experience using clinical protocols to make decisions for adult patients.
