About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day clinical activities for an orthopedic spine physician's practice across multiple sites.
- Manage patient triage, including screening calls, requesting medical records, and scheduling consultations or emergency appointments.
- Facilitate surgical coordination, including scheduling dates, providing pre-operative education, and ordering necessary testing.
- Act as a liaison between providers, residents, nursing staff, and other healthcare personnel to ensure seamless patient transitions.
- Perform clinical duties such as rounding on orthopedic inpatients, assisting with examinations, and managing wound care or sutures.
- Document all patient interactions, prescriptions, and clinical data accurately within the Electronic Medical Record (Epic).
- Address patient concerns, manage post-operative discharge instructions, and assist with medical documentation like disability forms or letters of medical necessity.
- Support clinical team management by assisting with staff onboarding, scheduling, and maintaining clinical supply inventories.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of related clinical experience.
- Current and unrestricted New York State RN license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Ability to work in a high-volume, high-pressure clinical environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and patients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a physician practice setting.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
