About the role

Responsibilities

  • Participate in predoctoral teaching including didactic lectures, pre-clinical instruction, and clinical supervision in the Sacramento clinic
  • Provide academic advisement and guidance to dental students and participate in student research projects
  • Deliver elective oral and maxillofacial surgery services such as dental implants, wisdom teeth extraction, and sedation
  • Provide emergency oral and maxillofacial surgery services at the clinic and the Pacific Sacramento Ambulatory Surgery Center
  • Serve the dental school and professional community through committee participation and interprofessional programs

Requirements

  • DDS/DMD from an ADA-accredited school of dentistry or equivalent
  • Completion of an advanced education program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice experience
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • California dental licensure or eligibility for licensure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
  • Previous experience in an academic setting
  • Previous experience working in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center
  • Knowledge of competency-based education and modern pedagogical concepts
