About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct confidential substance use and mental health assessments in person or via telehealth
  • Determine appropriate level of care and make facility placements based on assessment outcomes
  • Use strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches to support client treatment goals
  • Provide clinical consultation to referral resources and family members
  • Coordinate with Admissions and front desk teams to confirm appointments and assessment locations
  • Collect information from collateral resources to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Monitor client access and involvement to address barriers to treatment
  • Coordinate admissions and intake processes for smooth transitions into treatment
  • Collaborate with funding sources and Utilization Review teams for initial authorizations
  • Maintain quality, up-to-date clinical records in the EMR system
  • Provide back-up assistance to Counselors with group and individual therapy sessions

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Mental Health, Social Sciences, or a relevant field
  • Active mental health licensure in the state of service
  • Willingness to apply for substance use licensure if not currently active
  • 1+ year of experience in mental health disorder treatment
  • Experience with trauma-informed services, DBT, CBT, and motivational therapies
  • Ability to apply clinical judgment and ethics to treatment plans
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse populations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information reliably
