About the role

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the oversight, planning, and scheduling of off-campus workplace-based educational experiences.
  • Ensure LIU-CVM policies and procedures are fully implemented at off-campus sites through collaboration with clinical liaisons.
  • Implement safety and biosecurity measures required by the Clinical Programs team and the Clinical Affairs Committee.
  • Monitor, organize, and maintain necessary documentation for site affiliate status and student/faculty files.
  • Assist with student registration and the scheduling of clinical clerkship learning experiences for year 4 students.
  • Assist in managing the department budget and processing payments for off-campus affiliate sites.
  • Maintain databases to gather data, compile statistics, and generate reports.
  • Communicate policies, procedures, and relevant information to students, faculty, and clinical affiliates.

Requirements

  • Professional familiarity with the veterinary medical profession.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and OneDrive.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism when managing sensitive personal and college materials.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to interact with a diverse population.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CVT, LVT, or RVT credentials.
  • Master of Science (MSc) degree.
  • Knowledge of AAHA Standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Familiarity with NY Veterinary Medical Board and NYS Education Department practice guidelines.
