Climate Science Advisor

Responsibilities

• Lead climate data analytics to drive decision-making and inform climate policy
• Develop and manage innovative data visualization products and decision-support tools
• Convene the New York City Panel on Climate Change (NPCC) and align research with City policy
• Manage data tools to identify geographic, racial, and socioeconomic disparities in climate risks
• Conduct new climate research projects and manage grant funding for implementation
• Implement systems for monitoring scientific assessments and technical findings
• Convene diverse stakeholders to create research agendas and secure resources
• Supervise and manage research fellows and interns

Requirements

• Experience in data analytics and synthesizing complex subject matter
• Proficiency in GIS, JavaScript, Tableau, and statistical/data visualization software
• Strong understanding of climate change issues in large urban settings
• Experience managing multiple contracts and coordinating priority research
• Ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences
• Experience leading and executing data and policy convenings
• Master's degree in physical, biological, environmental science, or public health
• For higher levels, a Doctorate or a Master's with 3+ years of research experience
