About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe and secure environment for program participants and visitors
  • Manage intake, discharge, and cessation processes, ensuring all documentation is complete and timely
  • Monitor participant activities and provide personal, practical, and moral support while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Perform security checks, rounds, and inspections to ensure facility safety
  • Utilize de-escalation skills to manage potentially violent or intoxicated individuals
  • Assist with medication administration and urine drug screenings as permitted by training and policy
  • Provide reception and administrative support, including maintaining logbooks and incident reports
  • Supervise mealtimes and assist with food service as required by the program

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or training in a human service-related field
  • Current Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Current certification in Standard First Aid with Level C CPR
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and database management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with compassion and integrity
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Related experience in a social services or mental health setting
  • Experience working with marginalized populations or in a group home setting
  • Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
  • Experience with administrative duties, data input, and cash handling
