About the role
Responsibilities
- Review, process, and post client bills to the accounting system in a timely manner.
- Audit client bills to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with ethical standards and firm policies.
- Set up and update client and matter data according to firm procedures.
- Generate and distribute prebills to billing contacts on a monthly or on-demand basis.
- Revise prebills based on attorney instructions and post changes to the accounting system.
- Assist attorneys and billing assistants with implementing client billing guidelines.
- Coordinate the collection of accounts receivable and interact with clients to resolve billing-related issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required (College degree preferred).
- Three years of experience in billing or related accounting activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail regarding spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain high levels of customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with law firm billing practices and procedures.
- Previous experience using law firm accounting systems.
