About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform entry-level clerical work including bookkeeping, data entry, and file maintenance under close supervision
- Produce and proof correspondence, reports, purchase orders, and other related forms
- Review completed forms for signatures and proper entries to ensure accuracy
- Provide information to the public via mail and telephone
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments and supplies
- Assemble, organize, and tabulate data for various departmental needs
- Maintain organized files, records, and reports
- Open and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mailings
- Deliver documents and supplies, take deposits to the bank, and run errands as required
- Assist with office scheduling, receptionist duties, and physical inventory counts
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Texas motor vehicle operator’s license
- Ability to be insured by the County’s insurance carrier
- Proficiency in using personal computers and standard office equipment
- Knowledge of office procedures, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with clerical operations
