About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform entry-level clerical work including bookkeeping, data entry, and maintaining files for the Elections Department
- Assist in managing, organizing, and maintaining voting equipment and warehouse inventory
- Deliver voting equipment and other documents or supplies as required, involving extensive driving
- Produce and proof correspondence, reports, purchase orders, and other related forms
- Review completed forms for accuracy, signatures, and proper entries
- Provide information to the public via mail or telephone
- Receive, inspect, and check shipments and supplies for correct quantity and quality
- Assemble, organize, and tabulate data
- Perform related tasks such as receiving cash, making repair arrangements, or assisting with physical inventory
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Texas motor vehicle operator’s license
- Ability to be insured by the County’s insurance carrier
- Proficiency in using personal computers and standard office equipment
- Ability to work varying hours, including nights and weekends, during election seasons
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with clerical operations
