Cleaning Shift Leader

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day direction of a cleaning team as a working supervisor
• Schedule and oversee routine cleaning tasks, daily assignments, and project-based work
• Perform general cleaning tasks including floor stripping, refinishing, and machinery operation
• Inspect work progress and ensure completion of tasks according to Bowdoin College standards
• Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly projects such as window cleaning and carpet maintenance
• Manage inventory of supplies and maintain clean, organized storage areas
• Plan daily coverage to account for vacations or sick days and manage customer work orders
• Report damages and initiate maintenance service requests

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Maine driver's license and ability to meet motor vehicle policy requirements
• Minimum of four years of related cleaning experience
• At least one year of supervisory and training experience within the cleaning industry
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using cleaning industry management software
• Experience using maintenance management software
