Cleaner

Responsibilities

• Perform light cleaning duties including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and dusting offices and furnishings
• Maintain facility cleanliness by emptying garbage and recycling receptacles and cleaning washrooms
• Clean and polish kitchen areas, sinks, countertops, and fixtures
• Perform minor repairs such as changing light bulbs, unblocking toilets, and tightening furniture screws
• Ensure building security by checking doors and windows
• Maintain external property by clearing snow and ice from sidewalks and performing basic lawn care
• Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies ensuring all bottles have WHMIS compliant labeling
• Adhere to all health and safety standards to ensure a safe environment for staff and clients

Requirements

• Completion of Secondary School
• Up to 1 year of custodial or related experience
• Knowledge of Health & Safety Standards and WHMIS compliance
• Ability to lift and move up to 49 pounds
• Ability to perform physical tasks including reaching, bending, twisting, and occasional ladder work
