Class C Apprentice Machinery Manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Set up machines and create fixtures for individual parts
• Perform machining tasks using manual lathes, mills, and grinders
• Utilize CNC equipment and follow G-code or conversational programming
• Read and interpret standard and metric blueprints, including GD&T
• Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and depth mics
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to all safety procedures and regulations
• Document and communicate actions and irregularities to ensure continuity between shifts
• Perform general shop duties including cleanup and housekeeping

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience working with manual lathes, mills, and grinders
• Strong working knowledge of various types of CNC equipment
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding GD&T
• Solid foundation in basic mathematics and geometry
• Must be enrolled in college as a full-time student
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical degree in Machine Shop or related field
• Knowledge of speeds and feeds for different materials and tooling
• Experience with programming software such as Esprit or MasterCam
