Class A Truck Driver

Responsibilities

• Transport finished goods and raw materials between manufacturing plants, retail, and distribution centers
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Plan and meet delivery schedules in coordination with management
• Document driving time and retain fuel receipts
• Comply with all truck driving rules, regulations, and company policies
• Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents, or violations
• Handle packages ranging from small envelopes to boxes up to 80 pounds
• Operate carts, dollies, and hand trucks to move merchandise
• Maintain cleanliness of trailers, tractors, and bobtail trucks

Requirements

• Valid Class-A California driver license
• Proven work experience as a truck driver
• Experience driving Class-A vehicles
• Hands-on experience with GPS, AVL units, and CB radio
• Extensive knowledge of driving rules and regulations
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Ability to work in refrigerated environments (0-34 degrees)
• Physical ability to lift, stand, walk, reach, kneel, and bend
• Proficiency in reading and speaking English for road signs and reports
• Specific vision requirements (20/40 with correction, 70-degree field of vision, no colorblindness)

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience within the food and beverage transportation industry
• Warehouse experience
