About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical guidance to Claims Consultants across Income Protection, Life, and TPD
- Act as the technical SME, reviewing and authorising complex and adverse claim decisions
- Coach Claims Consultants to improve assessment quality, communication, and outcomes
- Ensure claims are managed in line with TAL policies, industry best practice, and delegated authorities
- Support managers with fund reporting, case conferences, and stakeholder engagement
- Contribute to claims procedures, governance, and quality assurance processes
Requirements
- Experience in Group life insurance claims within a technical specialist or senior claims role
- Proven ability to coach and uplift the capability of case managers
- Strong knowledge of life insurance legislation and claims frameworks
- Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to identify complex issues and drive effective claims solutions
- Customer-focused approach with sound judgement
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant insurance certifications or professional qualifications
