Claims Specialist

Responsibilities

• Resolve and negotiate claims recovery of repair and replacement costs on third-party cable/fiber and utility damages
• Work directly with liable parties’ insurance providers to defend and negotiate claims settlements
• Collaborate with claims departments and management of liable parties ranging from small businesses to large corporations and municipalities
• Utilize state dig laws, 811 excavator requirements, NESC standards, and CGA guidelines
• Conduct 40-50 inbound/outbound calls daily
• Enter notes and documentation into the proprietary Claims Database Tool
• Use photographs, narratives, job costs, and site sketches to defend liability accurately
• Participate in weekly department meetings to discuss recovery tactics and goals

Requirements

• Experience in collections or insurance adjusting is highly relevant
• Ability to conduct high-volume phone and email correspondence
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Tech-savvy with ability to adapt to new software

Preferred Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in claims, recovery, or the insurance industry
• Familiarity with construction, cable, or utility locate industries
• Understanding of B2B construction, claims management, or insurance settlement processes
• College education
• Bilingual in Spanish
