Claims Specialist, Liability

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and settle first and third-party commercial liability claims.
• Perform initial and final coverage confirmations and damage analysis.
• Maintain accurate and timely reserves reflecting the probable value of claims.
• Communicate effectively with insureds, agents, claimants, attorneys, and carriers.
• Manage claim diaries to ensure prompt and accurate resolution.
• Provide mentorship to Claim Adjusters and participate in training and file audits.

Requirements

• High-school degree or equivalent (college degree or coursework preferred).
• 2-3 years of experience in commercial claims adjusting and resolution.
• Knowledge of state regulations regarding claim adjudication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to obtain a NY State Adjuster's license within 9 months of hire.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
