Claims Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage and support environmental and property claims, including settlements, access agreements, and reimbursements
• Develop integrated risk mitigation and claims strategies aligned with business objectives
• Partner with Legal, Finance, Remediation Operations, and Land teams to execute risk management activities
• Support the development and maintenance of environmental reserves, budgets, and financial forecasts
• Challenge project end-state assumptions to optimize cost, schedule, and liability outcomes
• Apply Operational Excellence principles to ensure disciplined execution and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Degree in business, environmental science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated experience in environmental risk management, environmental claims, or liability management
• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting environmental settlements, cost recovery efforts, or site access agreements
• Familiarity with environmental reserve development, forecasting, and budgeting processes
• Working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and remediation activities
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and external agencies or property owners
