Claims Representative, WC

Responsibilities

• Investigate and manage workers' compensation claims by reviewing policy information and determining the extent of company obligations.
• Contact and interview insureds, claimants, witnesses, physicians, and attorneys to obtain necessary statements and information.
• Evaluate investigation facts to determine liability and prepare detailed reports on settlements, denials, and evaluations.
• Set reserves within authorized limits and recommend necessary changes to the Team Leader.
• Settle claims promptly and equitably, obtaining necessary releases and compensation agreements.
• Assist in preparing cases for trial by arranging witness attendance and taking statements.
• Administer benefits timely and maintain control of the claims resolution process to minimize risk.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in handling workers' compensation claims.
• Knowledge of Florida, Georgia, or Alabama workers' compensation laws.
• Proficiency in claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with external sources and customers.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience at ESIS or a similar third-party administrator (TPA).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong familiarity with medical terminology and industry best practices.
