Claims Representative, WC

Responsibilities

• Investigate workers' compensation claims to determine the extent of injury and manage reserves effectively.
• Implement medical cost containment measures to control loss dollar pay-out.
• Develop and execute strategies to manage claims through to successful conclusion.
• Identify short-term and long-term financial exposures and establish accurate financial reserves.
• Calculate and issue accurate benefit payments to injured workers, medical providers, and vendors.
• Maintain clear and concise documentation of all activities, investigations, and plans within the claim system.
• Comply with all statutory reporting and licensing requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Provide superior customer service while handling multiple priorities and complex caseloads.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in managing workers' compensation claims investigation and adjusting.
• In-depth knowledge of workers' compensation laws, procedures, and applicable state/local legislation.
• Ability to work independently and manage a pending caseload effectively.
• College degree or equivalent practical work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with excellent problem-resolution abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a Third Party Administrator (TPA) environment.
• Professional designations such as AIC or CPCU.
