Claims Representative, AGL

Responsibilities

• Investigate and settle Auto, General & Liability (AGL) claims promptly and equitably
• Review claim and policy information to determine the extent of the company's obligation
• Contact and interview insureds, claimants, witnesses, physicians, and attorneys to secure necessary information
• Evaluate facts to determine liability and prepare detailed investigation reports
• Set and manage reserves within established authority limits
• Prepare settlements, obtain releases, and issue payments for claims
• Communicate claim denials to claimants, insureds, or attorneys when applicable
• Collaborate with the Team Leader to develop improved methods for claim handling

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of claims handling experience in Auto and General Liability
• Valid resident or designated home state adjuster’s license (or ability to obtain one)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Deep understanding of insurance coverages and applicable legal principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a Third Party Administrator (TPA) environment
• Knowledge of auto liability cost containment programs
