Claims Representative, AGL

Responsibilities

• Investigate and settle Auto, General & Liability (AGL) claims promptly and equitably under general supervision.
• Review claim and policy information to determine the extent of the policy's obligation to the insured.
• Contact and interview insureds, claimants, witnesses, physicians, attorneys, and police officers to secure necessary information.
• Evaluate facts to determine liability and the company's obligation under the policy contract.
• Prepare detailed reports on investigations, settlements, and claim denials.
• Set reserves within authority limits and recommend necessary changes to the Team Leader.
• Obtain releases, proofs of loss, or compensation agreements and issue claim payments.
• Inform claimants, insureds, or attorneys of claim denials when applicable.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of claims handling experience specifically in Auto and General Liability.
• Valid state adjuster license (or ability to obtain one; ESIS provides support for licensing exams).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of insurance coverages and applicable legal principles.
• Demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a Third Party Administrator (TPA) environment.
• Knowledge of auto liability cost containment programs.
