About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage workers’ compensation claims within a self-insurance model, supporting employees through recovery and return to work
- Gather and assess evidence to support claims determinations and ensure timely decision-making in line with legislative requirements
- Communicate with injured employees, medical practitioners, and rehabilitation teams to manage expectations and support recovery pathways
- Manage claims data within the Figtree system to meet Comcare regulatory requirements
- Assist with reconsiderations, dispute management processes, and responding to regulatory queries or audits
- Ensure all payments, invoices, and claim documentation are accurate and compliant
Requirements
- Foundational understanding of legal principles or a legal qualification (highly regarded but not essential)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage empathetically with a wide range of stakeholders
- Ability to gather, interpret, and work with evidence to reach well-reasoned outcomes
- High attention to detail and the ability to follow structured processes and regulatory frameworks
- Resilience and emotional intelligence when managing sensitive situations
- A proactive interest in the medical, rehabilitation, or health space
