Claims Complex Property Adjuster

Responsibilities

• Handle high-complexity homeowner property claims by conducting thorough investigations and obtaining statements from insureds, claimants, and witnesses.
• Evaluate coverage, assess damages, and negotiate settlements within established authority to resolve first-party claims.
• Interpret policy obligations and differentiate between allegations and facts to determine liability and damage components.
• Communicate complex policy coverages, benefits, and claims processes to members, claimants, and vendors.
• Mentor and coach less experienced personnel within the claims department.
• Prepare formal reporting on high-profile claims for senior management and participate in legal proceedings or depositions as required.

Requirements

• 7-9 years of prior claims handling experience.
• Advanced knowledge of insurance, coverage investigation, scope and damage assessment, negligence, and subrogation principles.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and claims-specific software.
• Valid Driver's License with an acceptable DMV record and minimum liability insurance.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7-9 years of property claims administration experience.
• Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
• Associate in Claims (AIC) designation.
