Claims Agent

Responsibilities

• Manage VA disability claims and appeals by reviewing case files and tracking next steps
• Communicate with veterans to gather information and develop testimonial evidence
• Review, organize, and summarize VA claims files and supporting medical records
• Assist with supplemental claims, higher-level reviews, and Board appeals
• Maintain accurate electronic case files and deadlines within the case management system

Requirements

• Eligibility to become a VA-accredited Claims Agent
• Commitment to passing the Claims Agent exam within one year of hire
• Eligibility to obtain a VA PIV Card within 90 days
• Experience in a paralegal, legal assistant, or case manager role preferred
• Proficiency with legal case management software and Microsoft Office
• Ability to work remotely and autonomously

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in VA disability, veterans benefits, or administrative law
• Familiarity with military culture and veteran support systems
• Experience using AI tools like LexisNexis AI, ChatGPT, or Claude
