Claims Adjuster Trainee

Responsibilities

• Investigate and evaluate commercial insurance claims to ensure accurate coverage and damage analysis
• Manage claim diaries to ensure prompt, accurate, and appropriate resolution
• Communicate timely and responsively with insureds, agents, claimants, and attorneys regarding claim status
• Maintain accurate and timely reserves reflecting the probable value of claims
• Negotiate and settle claims using appropriate influencing skills to bring them to a conclusion

Requirements

• High-school degree or equivalent (college degree preferred)
• Ability to obtain a NY State Adjusters license
• Proficiency in Windows-based environments, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and excel in a collaborative, team-based environment
• Strong time management and desk management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous claims adjustment experience
• Knowledge of various state regulations as they apply to claims adjudication
