About the role

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and manage incidents resulting from marine group operations to identify cause and liability
  • Interface with vessel associates, operations managers, contractors, and insurance carriers
  • Consult with claimants and medical providers to obtain pertinent medical information
  • Maintain accurate records, take statements, and obtain medical records
  • Establish reserves, monitor expenditures, and approve claim-related expenses
  • Partner with legal counsel to formulate litigation strategy
  • Initiate and monitor Coast Guard documentation
  • Maintain claim files and system records

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of preferred experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of investigative techniques
  • Understanding of the litigation process
