Civil Litigation Counsel

Responsibilities

• Perform legal research and analysis
• Draft various judicial documents including demand letters, originating applications, defenses, replies, or affidavits
• Prepare evidence files
• Actively participate in the management of litigation files
• Attend hearings, settlement conferences, and trials
• Represent the company in civil liability cases, including defamation and freedom of the press
• Advise internal clients on a regular basis

Requirements

• Member of the Barreau du Québec
• 2 to 5 years of litigation experience
• Rigor and strong attention to detail
• Strong analytical capacity
• Autonomy, initiative, and ability to manage priorities
• Proficiency in legal databases
• Intermediate English proficiency (spoken and written)
